Second faculty town hall set for Sept. 20
The Bloomington Faculty Council’s second town hall — centered on research reorganization, the interim policy on the First Amendment and academic freedom, student academic appointee affairs, and Senate Bill 1 — will take place from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. Sept. 20 in Whittenberger Auditorium at the Indiana Memorial Union.
All faculty are encouraged to attend and discuss ways their academic life is affected by these matters and to propose thoughts on what the council can do, either collectively or through its committees, to best address these issues within the space of its larger community.
The town hall will be moderated by Paul Helmke, professor of practice in the Paul H. O’Neill School of Public and Environmental Affairs and director of the Civic Leaders Center, and attended by the Bloomington Faculty Council Executive Committee, council committee chairs and council members. Time will be equally split between the four issues of concern.
