Acosta named executive director of undergraduate admissions

Jackie Acosta has been selected as executive director of undergraduate admissions in the Division of Enrollment Management on the Indianapolis campus.

Acosta brings 25 years of wide-ranging experience to the position, including admissions leadership roles at Franklin College and Butler University.

Jackie Acosta She most recently served as vice president and enrollment management consultant at the educational support company Ruffalo Noel Levitz, after a nearly 10-year stint as director of higher education services at the College Board Midwest office in Chicago.

As executive director of undergraduate admissions, Acosta will coordinate recruitment and admissions to the Indianapolis campus and will collaborate closely with all schools and other academic and service units.

“Aside from her experience in admissions and recruitment at institutions here in Indiana, Jackie has been a key strategic partner for numerous colleges and universities through her involvement with important partner organizations,” said PJ Woolston, vice chancellor for enrollment management in the Division of Enrollment Management. “She has helped them in their efforts to advance the goals of higher education, and we are excited to be able to draw directly on that expertise … and of course, we are also very excited about Jackie’s deep ties to central Indiana.”

Acosta served as senior assistant director of admission at Butler University from 1998 to 2005. Under her leadership, the university increased applications for Latinos by 29% and African Americans by 24% in 2005.

During her tenure as director of admission at Franklin College from 2005 to 2011, the college exceeded its first-year enrollment goals for four consecutive years.

Acosta’s appointment is effective April 10.
