On-campus residence hall and dining rates approved for 2025-26

Nov 15, 2024

During its Nov. 14 meeting, the Indiana University Board of Trustees approved on-campus residence hall and dining rates for each campus with housing for the next academic year, with increases at or below 3%.

“IU continues to be disciplined in managing costs, capital investment and debt to maintain rates as low as possible,” said Donald Lukes, IU treasurer. “The approved rate increases will allow IU to continue to invest in repair and rehabilitation of its housing and dining facilities, as well as support operations and residence life activities.”

The standard room and board rate for IU Bloomington will increase 2%, to a total of $12,431 per year. Renovations to the Wright Quadrangle will be completed early next year, and it will re-open to students in fall 2025. IU Bloomington standard room and board rates are among the lowest in the Big Ten Conference.

At IU Indianapolis, room and board rates will increase 2%, to a total of $13,331 per year for the most common room type. Room rates at IU South Bend will increase 3% across all rooms; the most prevalent rate will be $6,951. At IU Southeast, all room rates will increase 2%, and the most common room rate will be $8,078.

Dining rates at IU Bloomington will increase 2%, and rates at IU Indianapolis will increase 2.5%. Starting in fall 2025, IU South Bend on-campus residents will be required to purchase a dining plan. Their room and board rate will include $800 toward the lowest tier plan.
