Indiana University has recently launched the first component of CourseLeaf, a new platform for managing academic bulletins, course and program approvals, and syllabi.

While the platform’s full functionality will be developed over the course of this academic year, IU is launching the syllabus module now to comply with new state legislation. This module allows access to syllabi stored in Canvas.

Once fully implemented, CourseLeaf will streamline the process for faculty and academic units to propose and evaluate new courses and programs, manage approvals, and build and access academic bulletins.

CourseLeaf will also integrate with IU’s new Stellic platform, which supports advising and student degree planning as well as auditing. In Stellic, students can use a modern, mobile-friendly interface to:

  • Build a degree plan with a clear path to graduation.
  • Track their progress with an easy-to-use graduation progress bar.
  • Perform a “what if” analysis to explore adding a minor, pursuing a certificate or changing a major.

Together, CourseLeaf and Stellic will create a streamlined and integrated system that enhances the student experience by providing access to program requirements, available course options and course syllabi during the pre-registration and registration processes. This access will be especially valuable as students plan for future semesters and chart their overall academic journey.
