IU Global offers a variety of faculty grants, awards and other resources that support international research, teaching and service.
Funding for faculty activity overseas includes the International Collaboration Grant and the Global Gateway Grant. Both have quarterly application deadlines of Oct. 1, Feb. 1, April 1 and July 1.
The office also helps faculty members develop international learning experiences for their students by facilitating virtual exchanges through the Global Classroom initiative and supporting traditional education abroad through the Education Abroad Program Development Grant.
The next deadline to apply for the Global Classroom initiative is Oct. 15, and the next Education Abroad grant application deadline is Nov. 1.
Many other programs for promoting global competency are offered, as well as Global Connections to tap into IU’s extensive international network and expertise.
The following free, self-paced online resources are offered to help users incorporate critical global skills into any classroom:
- Earn a certificate while learning how to build global learning into your course, student program or learning activity by enrolling in the Global Learning for IU Educators course.
- Explore the Global Learning Toolkit, a collection of real lessons, strategies and takeaways from IU faculty who have incorporated global learning in their classroom.
- Take the Global Learning Module for First-Year Students, an introductory-level look at global learning with ready-built resources and assessments.
IU Global has also created an immigration and visa updates webpage with information on policy changes that may impact international students, scholars, employees and dependents.
Faculty are encouraged to consider all IU Global grants and resources. Email ovpia@iu.edu with questions.
