Michael Huber to become president of Indy Eleven

Indiana University Vice President for University Relations Michael Huber will step down, effective Dec. 31, to become president of Indy Eleven and senior vice president of the Keystone Group.

Michael Huber Michael HuberDuring his time at IU, Huber led the university’s government relations efforts, strengthening key relationships at the local, state and federal levels. He also guided its economic development initiatives, creating stronger linkages between the university’s research enterprise and Indiana’s key economic sectors in life sciences and technology, and expanding collaborations with local chambers of commerce and economic development initiatives.

“Our work to make Indiana University an engine of the state’s growth has been made stronger because of Michael’s leadership,” IU President Pamela Whitten said. “From shaping economic development partnerships to his advocacy for IU, we are deeply grateful for his many contributions to IU’s success and wish him well in his new adventures.”

IU will conduct a search for the next vice president for university relations, with a search committee chaired by Jason Dudich, IU vice president for finance and chief financial officer.

While the search is ongoing, Angela Smith-Jones will serve as interim vice president for university relations. She currently serves as the university’s associate vice president for state relations.
