BLOOMINGTON – Indiana University ranks first in the state among universities for producing future leaders, according to a new study from TIME. IU is ranked in the top 10 among public universities across the country.

To determine the rankings, TIME and Statistica analyzed a group of 4,800 of the most influential figures shaping U.S. society today, from policymakers to leading scientists, educators and cultural innovators, the magazine said.

This is the third edition of these rankings, finding both the best colleges for future leaders as well as the best companies. The magazine said the lists “identify the organizations most successful in cultivating the next generation of influential leaders, based on a rigorous, data-driven evaluation.”

Indiana University is one of the nation’s leading public research universities, with two R1 campuses in Bloomington and Indianapolis and nearly 90,000 students across nine campuses and nine School of Medicine campuses. Since 1820, Indiana University has helped students create brighter futures while also driving innovation, from breakthroughs in DNA technology to cancer research to trailblazing cultural programs and resources.
