Paws’ Pantry needs support

Paws’ Pantry is closed until further notice, as operators determine the best way to meet what they call an “exponential increase” in use.
The campus food bank is a resource for students, staff and faculty. The growing need for assistance means that when the pantry reopens, item limits may be put in place without advance notice. Pantry shoppers should also prepare for long wait times or checkout lines.
Donations can help Paws’ Pantry keep up with demand, and there are several ways to give:
- Drop off nonperishable food items and personal hygiene products in the orange bins outside Campus Center 130.
- If you have a Paws’ Pantry donation bin that needs a regularly scheduled pick-up, email the location to jagsfood@iu.edu.
- Departments can sponsor a pantry shelf. Organizers ask that sponsors donate 15 to 20 items per month, but any amount is welcomed. Email jagsfood@iu.edu for more information.
- Kroger shoppers can contribute through the grocery chain’s Community Rewards program.
- Make a monetary donation online.
Faculty and staff can also help students in need by referring them to the Office of Student Advocacy and Support. Referrals can be made by emailing stuadvoc@iupui.edu, calling 317-274-4431 or filling out an online form.
