Office of Equal Opportunity promotes 2

Two people have been promoted in the IUPUI Office of Equal Opportunity, Interim Chancellor Andrew R. Klein announced.

Headshot of Karloa Stevens Karloa Stevens is the office’s new director and will also serve as the deputy Title IX coordinator for the campus. In her new role, Stevens will coordinate investigations into discrimination, harassment and sexual misconduct for staff and faculty at IUPUI, IU School of Medicine, IUPUC and IU Fort Wayne; review cases with the Office of the Chancellor; liaise with campus leaders regarding Office of Equal Opportunity misconduct cases; coordinate bias inquiries; supervise investigators; and serve as the office’s onsite manager. She previously served as a senior equal opportunity specialist.

Headshot of Nay Petrucelli Nay Petrucelli has been promoted from a data and compliance specialist to assistant director for equal employment data and hiring compliance within the office. Petrucelli will coordinate affirmative action and equal opportunity compliance for staff and faculty at IUPUI, IU School of Medicine, IUPUC and IU Fort Wayne; supervise monitoring of academic and staff hiring processes; and liaise with campus leaders regarding demographic information and representation for employees, workforce data, goals for schools, search committees and other questions related to hiring and the workforce. He will also represent the Office of Equal Opportunity at campus meetings and committees related to affirmative action and equal employment issues.

“Karloa and Nay have a rich history with IUPUI, and we are very fortunate that they will be bringing their experience to bear on these critical areas,” Klein said.

Stevens and Petrucelli will also serve as assistant directors in the university Office of Institutional Equity.
