38th Street campus employees sitting under tree The July Photo Caption Contest, presented by IUPUI Special Collections and Archives, features an early-1970s photo of three people basking in the summer sun at IUPUI’s old 38th Street campus, opposite the Indiana State Fairgrounds.

The campus housed the School of Engineering and Technology and the School of Science, a legacy from when Purdue built its Indianapolis Extension campus there in the early 1960s. Programs continued at that location until downtown buildings were constructed in the 1970s and ’80s.

What’s going on in the photo? What are they saying? You decide by submitting a caption

Jane Alexander won the June contest with her caption: “REALLY! You wouldn’t believe what I can hide in this hairdo!”
