The IU Indianapolis Center for Teaching and Learning is accepting 2025 Curriculum Enhancement Grant proposals through Dec. 2.
The grant is open to faculty from IU Indianapolis, IU Columbus and IU Fort Wayne and offered to:
- Improve student learning outcomes and experiences using inclusive and equitable teaching practices.
- Enhance the campus conversation about scholarly teaching, which includes evidence-based, reflective, inclusive and equitable teaching practices.
- Incentivize the practice of the scholarship of teaching and learning.
- Increase faculty competitiveness for external educational or curricular improvement grants.
Grant funds support a wide range of projects that must align with at least one of three tracks.
The Student Success track focuses on curriculum development that will improve drop, fail, withdrawal rates in 100- and 200-level courses. The track, which is new this grant cycle, was created in response to the university’s strategic focus on decreasing drop, fail, withdrawal rates with no equity gaps by race, first generation or income level in 80% of the courses at the 100 and 200 levels.
The Inclusive and Evidence-Based Pedagogies track involves adopting pedagogies of engagement including active and collaborative learning and other research-based teaching practices; and leveraging diversity, promoting justice, and enhancing inclusion, equity and belonging.
The Educational Technology track focuses on integrating innovative technology, including generative AI and virtual and augmented reality.
Information sessions will be held throughout the semester for interested faculty to learn about the program goals, proposal requirements and review process; review examples from past successful proposals; develop proposal ideas; and ask questions.
