Antiracist reading group professional development series returns

book covers Two book options are included in the spring 2024 antiracist reading groups program.The IUPUI Division of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion’s antiracist reading groups support the division’s goal to foster education on race and dismantle racism.

The spring 2024 program offers two book options:

  • “Do the Work! An Antiracist Activity Book” by W. Kamau Bell and Kate Schatz, which includes activities, games, illustrations, comics and more that challenge readers to think critically and act effectively.
  • “The Racial Healing Handbook” by Anneliese A. Singh, a workbook-style approach to issues like internalized racism and racial healing that offers introspective exercises.

The program is open to all faculty and staff. The one-hour meetings are held via Zoom. Several times and days are offered.

Each group will meet beginning the week of Jan. 22. The first session will discuss the introduction of the book and the framework of the program’s process. 

The IUPUI Division of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion will provide free copies of each participant’s selected book, which will be distributed via mail or will be available for pick-up.
