Call for mentors to support Office of Scholar Development
By IU Indianapolis Today
March 28, 2025
The Office of Scholar Development at IU Indianapolis supports students who are interested in competitive national scholarships and grants by coordinating, assisting and mentoring students and their faculty as they develop their applications.
The office is forming a Board of Mentors to assist with the process. The time commitment would be roughly one hour per week during the application period.
Faculty who were nominated for or received a national or international scholarship as a student such as Fulbright, Goldwater, Truman, Gilman, Critical Language, Douglass-O’Connell (formerly Frederick Douglass), Udall, Boren, Gates Cambridge, Knight-Hennessey or NSF Research Fellowship are especially encouraged to consider joining the board.
Serving as a mentor is an opportunity to work closely with students to bolster student success metrics, while also contributing to the strong national and international reputation of the IU Indianapolis campus.
Interested faculty are asked to complete this brief survey to register their interest. Questions can be sent to sdevelop@iu.edu.
