The Celebration of Faculty and Staff Excellence included an awards ceremony honoring outstanding individuals for their contributions to Indiana University. IU President Pamela Whitten and IU Indianapolis Chancellor Latha Ramchand delivered remarks.

In addition to the annual awards, an award that is not given regularly was presented to two honorees.

Anne Mitchell, senior director of human resources, and Eric Weldy, vice chancellor for student affairs, were both surprised with the Gerald L. Bepko Outstanding Administrator Award.

The award was established in 2003 in honor of Bepko, who served as chancellor of IUPUI from 1986 to 2003. Honorees are selected as warranted by the Indianapolis Faculty Council Executive Committee to recognize outstanding administrators.
