Research Core Technology Seminar Series resuming

September 08, 2021

The Indiana CTSI Research Core Technology Seminar Series will resume at noon Sept. 10 on Zoom. Registration is required.

The purpose of this seminar series is to inform investigators about how existing or new technologies offered by the core facilities at Indiana University, Purdue University and the University of Notre Dame could be useful in advancing their research.

The first seminar on Sept. 10 will feature the Preclinical Modeling and Therapeutics Core facility at IU School of Medicine.

The Preclinical Modeling and Therapeutics Core is a recently consolidated core consisting of the Angio BioCore and the In Vivo Therapeutics Core. It facilitates the development and testing of pharmacological and cellular therapies for cancer, and provides advanced resources essential for the preclinical validation of novel drug targets and biomarkers of cancer.

In this seminar, the team will provide a brief overview of services offered. This will be followed by focused discussions on the Incucyte S3 Live-Cell Analysis (Sartorius) for in vitro cellular response studies and the IVIS SpectrumCT In Vivo Imaging System (PerkinElmer) for in vivo tracking of tumor response.

The fall 2021 biweekly series will feature the following research cores:

  • Sept. 10: Preclinical Modeling and Therapeutics Core, IU School of Medicine.
  • Sept. 24: No seminar; CTSI Annual Meeting.
  • Oct. 8: Molecular Evolution, Protein Engineering and Production Facility, Purdue.
  • Oct. 22: Proteomics Facility, Purdue.
  • Nov. 5: Behavioral Phenotyping Center, IU School of Medicine.
  • Nov. 19: Magnetic Resonance Research Center, Notre Dame.
  • Dec. 3: Biospecimen Collection and Biobanking Core, IU School of Medicine.
  • Dec. 17: Flow Cytometry Core Facility, IU Bloomington.
