Beginning July 1, IU School of Nursing associate professor Angela Opsahl will assume the role of assistant dean on the Bloomington campus.

Opsahl has been a faculty member of the School of Nursing for nine years and joined the Bloomington faculty in 2017. Most recently, Opsahl has been serving as director of the school’s online RN-to-BSN consortium.

In her new role, Opsahl will support the administration, teaching and scholarship activities of the IU School of Nursing on the Bloomington campus.

“Her work as assistant dean will help to ensure excellence in pre-licensure didactic and clinical experiences, and student outcomes,” said Wendy Trueblood Miller, the school’s associate dean on the Bloomington campus. “We are incredibly fortunate to have Dr. Opsahl’s leadership in this area, as she is a proven leader and a known expert in the science of nursing education.”

“I am proud to be part of Indiana University School of Nursing and excited for this next step on my professional journey,” Opsahl said. “I look forward to working collaboratively with our talented faculty, advisors and staff to support our outstanding students on their educational path.”
