Recreational Sports, in partnership with Healthy IU, has announced the return of employee indoor walking access at Bill Garrett Fieldhouse.

Starting Oct. 3, full- and part-time faculty and staff and medical/optometry residents on the IU Bloomington campus have access to the indoor track at the fieldhouse from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays.

Visit Garrett Fieldhouse Member Services with your Crimson Card to add the walking pass at no cost. Each time you visit the track during the designated times, scan your card at Member Services and get moving.

“We hope employees will take advantage of this opportunity to walk on their own, have walking meetings, or connect with friends and colleagues across campus to take a break and get a walk in regardless of the weather outside,” Recreational Sports Executive Director Chris Arvin said. “We know that even short bursts of physical activity can affect physical, emotional and mental health, and we hope this program is helpful in that way.”
