Here is a look at the dates and times of what will be open and closed.

IMU, dining options

The Indiana Memorial Union will be open all days of the winter break except Dec. 23 to 26, but its restaurants and other attractions will have varying hours:

Chocolate Moose

• Dec. 17: 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
• Dec. 18 to Jan. 3: Closed.
• Jan. 4 to 6: 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
• Jan. 7 and 8: 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Lantern

• Dec. 17 to Jan. 2, Jan. 7: Closed.
• Jan. 3 to 6: 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
• Jan. 8: 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and 5 to 9 p.m.

Quarry Pie

• Dec. 17 to 21 and Jan. 3 to 6: 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.
• Dec. 22 to Jan. 2: Closed.
• Jan. 7: Noon to 3 p.m. and 4 to 10 p.m.
• Jan. 8: Noon to 3 p.m. and 4 to 9 p.m.

Starbucks

• Dec. 17 and 18, Jan. 7: 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
• Dec. 19 to Jan. 6: Closed.

Sugar and Spice

Whitfield Grill

Also at the Union, bowling and billiards will be closed Dec. 17 to Jan. 8.

IU Dining locations are largely closed or will have very limited hours during the break, although Goodbody Hall and the cafe at the Eskenazi Museum of Art will have more availability.

Libraries

The Herman B Wells Library will be open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Dec. 19 to 22, Dec. 27 to 29, and Jan. 3 to 6. It will be closed Dec. 23 to 26 and Dec. 30 to Jan. 2. 

The Lilly Library’s hours will be 9:30 to 5 p.m. Dec. 19 to 22 and Jan. 3 to 6, and 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Jan. 7. It will be closed Dec. 23 through Jan. 2.

Eskenazi Museum of Art

The Sidney and Lois Eskenazi Museum of Art building and galleries will be closed Dec. 22 to Jan. 8. Normal operations resume Jan. 9.

Recreational sports

Recreational Sports’ buildings and aquatics facilities will have varying hours.

• Dec. 17 to 22 and Jan. 2 to 7: 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
• Dec. 23: 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
• Dec. 24 to 26: Closed.
• Dec. 27 to 30: 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
• Dec. 31: Noon to 5 p.m.
• Jan. 1: Noon to 8 p.m.
• Jan. 8: 8 a.m. to 11 p.m.

Student Recreational Sports Center

• Dec. 17 to Jan. 7: Closed.
• Jan. 8: 8 to 11 a.m.

Royer Pool

• Dec. 17 and 18 and Jan. 1 and 7: Noon to 2 p.m. and 5:30 to 8 p.m.
• Dec. 19 to 22, Dec. 27 to 30 and Jan. 2 to 6: 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and 4 to 6 p.m.
• Dec. 23: 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
• Dec. 24 to 26 and Jan. 8: Closed.

Councilman/Billingsley Aquatic Center pool

• Dec. 17 to Jan. 7: Closed.
• Jan. 8: Noon to 10 p.m.

Transportation and parking

Campus Bus

Beginning Dec. 17, Campus Bus will only operate a shuttle service on the Campus/Mall route. Two buses will be operating, and stops will be serviced approximately every 35 minutes between from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

However, there will be no service Dec. 18, Dec. 23 to 26, and Dec. 30 to Jan. 2. Regular service on all routes will resume Jan. 8.

Parking

• Office: The Office of Parking Operations will be open during regular posted hours over winter break with the following exceptions: closing at 1 p.m. Dec. 20 and closed Dec. 27 to 29. All online services will continue to be available. Regular hours will resume Jan. 3.
• Parking enforcement: The hours of enforcement will be 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., except there will be no enforcement Dec. 27 to 29. While classes are not in session during winter break, parking in a CH or ST zone will not require a permit — although game-day parking regulations will remain in place for Dec. 19, Dec. 22 and Jan. 7. All other zones, meters and garages will be enforced and operational.
• Garages: Hours of operation for all gated parking garages will be 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Dec. 19 to Jan. 8. When garages are not operating, all exit gates will be raised.
• Motorist Assistance: Motorist Assistance will have reduced hours of availability over the break: 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Dec. 19 to 22 and Jan. 3 to 6; 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Dec. 27 to 29. No motorist assistance will be available Dec. 23 to 26 and Dec. 30 to Jan. 2.

Fleet Services

Fleet Services will be closed Dec. 23 to Dec. 26 and Dec. 30 to Jan. 2. Regular hours will resume Jan. 3.

Facility operations

The Bloomington campus Facility Operations Center will remain open to assist with maintenance trouble calls. Call 812-855-8728 all hours, all days for assistance. Responses to calls received outside normal business hours (7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday) and on observed holidays (Dec. 23, Dec. 26, Dec. 30 and Jan. 2) will be limited to emergency maintenance.

Campus mail

To arrange mail service during semester break, send an email to iumail@indiana.edu by Dec. 19. Be sure mail personnel will be able to enter your building or office if you request service. If you do not contact Mail Services, the assumption will be that your office is closed.

Mail Services will be closed Dec. 23 to 26 and Dec. 30 to Jan. 2. Upon request, service will be available from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Dec. 27 to 29. If you request accountable mail service, you must have staff present from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Deliveries to other departments must be confirmed in advance. Mail Services will not hold any accountable mail bags overnight during the break.

Document Services

IU Document Services will be closed Dec. 23 to Jan. 2, and reopen Jan. 3.

Surplus store

The IU Surplus store will be closed Dec. 23 to Jan. 2, and will resume regular hours Jan. 3.

Outdoor Adventures

IU Outdoor Adventures in Eigenmann Hall will be closed Dec. 17 to Jan. 8.

Early Childhood Educational Services

The Early Childhood Educational Services child care centers will be closed Dec. 19 to Jan. 2, and reopen Jan. 3.

Musical Arts Center box office

The Musical Arts Center box office is now closed for winter break and will reopen at 11:30 a.m. Monday, Jan. 9.
