Counseling and Psychological Services provides several resources for faculty and staff to utilize as they work with students on the IU Bloomington campus.
Request a presentation
Counselors are available to present information about CAPS services to students, faculty and staff. We can also provide training on mental health topics, such as how to recognize and refer students in distress, and much more.
Programs can be tailored to fit your needs. Submit a program request on the Student Health Center website, or email outreach coordinator Luciana Guardini at lguardin@indiana.edu if you have any questions.
Be a mental health advocate
CAPS needs your help advocating for mental health. Here are some ideas to consider:
Display CAPS posters and brochures in your office or department. Email CAPS at lguardin@indiana.edu to request materials.
Follow and share @IUStudentHealthCenter Facebook posts with your students.
Add information about CAPS to your syllabus, website or email newsletter.
Use five minutes of class time to tell students about CAPS services.
Check out these 10 ways you can help reduce stigma.
Learn how to recognize, respond to and refer students in distress.
Raise awareness
Help students gain access to CAPS services. Consider showing them an overview video , or add it to your Canvas class.
EAP
And a reminder that staff and faculty who need assistance themselves are encouraged to use SupportLinc Employee Assistance Program .
