Know what’s open and closed during summer break

Indiana University Bloomington’s recent commencement ceremonies marked the end of the spring semester, which means some buildings and services on campus will have adjusted hours during the summer break.

Here is a look at some updated hours:

Dining

At the Indiana Memorial Union, The Mix, Quarry Pie Co., Union Market and Starbucks will be open through the summer. Sugar and Spice, The Tudor Room, The Chocolate Moose, The Globe and The Lantern are closed but will reopen June 4. Check the IMU restaurants web page for details about operating hours.

Bookmarket Eatery is closed for the summer. The Union Street Center campus store and the campus cafes at the Eskenazi Museum of Art, Ballantine Hall and O’Neill School of Public and Environmental Affairs will be open through July 31. Check the IU Dining summer hours web page for more information.

Activities

The Sidney and Lois Eskenazi Museum of Art will have adjusted building and gallery hours through Aug. 20.

The building will be open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, and noon to 5 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays. Gallery hours will be noon to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday. The museum will close entirely for Memorial Day, for Juneteenth and from July 3 to 9.

University Collections at McCalla will be open from noon to 5 p.m. Tuesdays through Fridays and 1 to 4 p.m. Saturdays during the summer break. It will be closed July 1 through 4, with normal hours resuming July 5, and be closed Aug. 7 through 20, with normal hours resuming Aug. 22.

IU Outdoor Pool will be open Memorial Day weekend. Check the pool website for additional information.

Recreational Sports will have adjusted summer hours from through Aug. 11. The Student Recreational Sports Center will be open all summer. Bill Garrett Fieldhouse will be closed and will re-open Aug. 12. The Recreational Sports Field Complex will have open turf times on most days for outdoor fun with equipment checkout available. Visit the IU Recreational Sports website for details on summer hours.

Bowling and Billiards at the IMU is open 5 to 11 p.m. Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays until May 31, and noon to 10 p.m. June 1 to July 31.

IU Outdoor Adventures will fulfill equipment rental requests by appointment starting June 16.

IU Libraries

The Wells Library’s summer hours are 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Fridays, noon to 5 p.m. Saturdays and noon to 8 p.m. Sundays

On May 30, the Wells Library will be open regular hours, but the Learning Commons will be closed for a private event beginning at 2 p.m. In June and July, the library is used for New Student Orientation activities and can be busy in the lobby and Learning Commons.

Lilly Library hours do not change for the summer.

The Wylie House Museum will be open by appointment some days of the week, and open tour hours are from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday.

Transportation

The Campus Bus CM route will detour around temporary street closures at Fee and Law lanes through June 30, or until the streets are reopened.

IU Ride is available daily from 8 p.m. to 1:45 a.m.

Food assistance

Starting May 15, Crimson Cupboard will be open from noon to 2 p.m. Mondays, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesdays and noon to 4 p.m. Wednesdays.
