The fall semester is nearing its end, and winter break is rapidly approaching. Some buildings and services on the IU Bloomington campus may not be open or available during the break.

Here are dates and times of what will be open and closed.

IMU, dining options

The Indiana Memorial Union will close at noon Dec. 24 and reopen at 7 a.m. Jan. 2. Its restaurants and other attractions will have varying hours:

IU Dining locations are largely closed or will have very limited hours during the break, although the Collins Eatery and the cafe at the Eskenazi Museum of Art will have more availability.

Libraries

The Herman B Wells Library will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Dec. 18 to 22 and Jan. 2 to 5, and from 1 to 5 p.m. Dec. 16, 17 and 23 and Jan. 6. The upper floors close 30 minutes before the rest of the building each day. The Wells Library will be closed Dec. 24 to Jan. 1. Regular hours resume Jan. 7.

The Lilly Library’s hours will be 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Dec. 16 and Jan. 6; 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Dec. 18 to 21 and Jan. 2 to 5; and 9:30 a.m. to noon Dec. 22. The Reading Room is by appointment only. The Lilly Library will be closed Dec. 17, Dec. 23 to Jan. 1, and Jan. 7. Regular hours resume Jan. 8.

Eskenazi Museum of Art

The Sidney and Lois Eskenazi Museum of Art will be closed Dec. 21 through Jan. 7. Regular hours will resume Jan. 8.

Recreational Sports

Recreational Sports’ buildings and aquatics facilities will have varying hours.

Student Recreational Sports Center

• Dec. 16 to 22 and Jan. 2 to 6: 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
• Dec. 23: 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
• Dec. 24 to 31: Closed.
• Jan. 1: Noon to 8 p.m.
• Jan. 7: 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Counsilman Billingsley Aquatic Center

• Dec. 16 and 17 and Jan. 6: Noon to 8 p.m.
• Dec. 18 to 22 and Jan. 2 to 5: 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and 5:30 to 8 p.m.
• Dec. 23: Noon to 5 p.m.
• Dec. 24 to 31: Closed.
• Jan. 1: Noon to 1:30 p.m. and 5:30 to 8 p.m.

Bill Garrett Fieldhouse

The Recreational Sports Field Complex, Royer Pool and Pool 194 at Garrett Fieldhouse will be closed Dec. 16 to Jan. 7.

Transportation and parking

Campus Bus Service will be closed Dec. 25 and Jan. 1. The CM route will operate 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on other days from Dec. 16 to 31. Expect about 35 minutes between buses at each stop. Regular service on all routes resumes Jan. 2.

IU Ride will be closed Dec. 16 to Jan. 7. IU Ride Late Nite by Lyft will be operating. Regular service resumes Jan. 8.

Transportation Demand Management will be closed Dec. 14 to Jan. 1. Regular office hours resume Jan. 2.

The Fleet Services motor pool will be closed Dec. 25 to Jan. 1. Regular service resumes Jan. 2.

Parking

• Office: Online services will be available during the break. The Office of Parking Operations in the Henderson Street Garage will close early at 1 p.m. Dec. 21, and will be closed entirely Dec. 25 to Jan. 1. Regular hours resume Jan. 2.
• Parking enforcement: The CH and ST zones will not be enforced Dec. 16 to Jan. 12, except for game days. Enforcement in these zones will resume on Jan. 15. Game-day parking restrictions for men’s and women’s basketball games will remain active. All other zones will be enforced 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Dec. 16 to 22 and Jan. 2 to 12. Enforcement will be suspended from Dec. 26 to 29 in all zones.
• Garages: At gated parking garages, the gates will be down from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Dec. 18 to 22. All gates will be raised Dec. 23 to Jan. 1. Regular gate hours resume Jan. 2.
• Motorist assistance: Service will be available from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Dec. 18 to 22 and Jan. 2 to 5. It will be closed Dec. 23 to Jan. 1 and Jan. 6 and 7. Regular service resumes Jan. 8.

Campus mail

Mail will not be delivered Dec. 25 to Jan. 1. Arrangements for mail and accountable mail service during this period must be made by contacting Mail Services before Dec. 15 by emailing iumail@indiana.edu. Regular service resumes Jan. 2.

Surplus store

The IU Surplus Store will be closed Dec. 22 to Jan. 1. Regular hours resume Jan. 2.

Facility operations

The Bloomington campus Facility Operations Center will remain open to assist with maintenance trouble calls. Call 812-855-8728 all hours, all days for assistance.

Responses to calls received outside normal business hours (7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday) and on observed holidays (Dec. 25 to 29 and Jan. 1) will be limited to emergency maintenance.

Outdoor Adventures

IU Outdoor Adventures’ offices, shop and bouldering wall will be closed Dec. 14 to Jan. 7.

Early Childhood Educational Services

Early Childhood Educational Services will be closed Dec. 18 to Jan. 1, and will reopen Jan.2.

Musical Arts Center box office

The Musical Arts Center box office is now closed for winter break and will reopen at 11:30 a.m. Jan. 8.

Student Health Center

The Student Health Center will have reduced hours of operation during the winter break, including complete closure Dec. 25 to Jan. 1.
