IU Bloomington is seeking 2026 reclassification for the Carnegie Foundation’s Elective Classification for Community Engagement.

As part of the process, IU Bloomington is conducting a self-study to assess the campus’s commitment to, investment in and accomplishment at higher education community engagement.

People or units that participate in ongoing community engagement activities in the areas of research, teaching, civic learning or service are invited to fill out a short, five-question survey to share this information with the steering committee leading the reclassification effort.

The survey will be open through Nov. 30. Questions about the steering committee’s work or the survey may be directed to Paige Andersson at paiander@iu.edu.
