Second employee health center opens in Bloomington

As part of Marathon Health’s recent network expansion, additional employee health centers have opened near several IU campuses, including a second location in Bloomington. This expansion gives IU medical plan members more convenient options to access high-quality, affordable health care.

The second Bloomington health center is located at 514 W. Second St., across from the old hospital. It’s open from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday to Thursday and 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Fridays, closing daily for lunch from noon to 1 p.m.

Scheduling for this location has already been integrated into the Marathon Health Patient Portal. When you log in to schedule an appointment, you will automatically see availability at both locations. Appointments can also be made by calling 866-434-3255.

A key benefit of Marathon Health is that you can use them as much or as little as you choose. They can serve as your primary-care provider, or you can visit as needed for sick care or labs.

Services available at the health centers include:

  • Primary and preventive care.
  • Acute and sick care.
  • Mental health counseling.
  • On-site labs and immunizations.
  • Chronic condition management.
  • Health coaching.

The Marathon Health centers are open to employees, spouses and children enrolled on an IU employee medical plan — the Anthem PPO HDHP or Anthem PPO $500 Deductible Plan. Appointments are required, but same- or next-day visits are frequently available for urgent needs. Preventive care, health coaching and labs are covered at no cost, and all other visits cost just $35, billed through your IU health insurance.

Members who have used the Marathon Health centers praise the high level of care they receive. With 20- to 40-minute appointments, providers have time to address all of your concerns and work with you to create a personalized care plan.
