The IU Executive Search team is collaborating with Medallion Partners in a national search for the next vice chancellor. Applications and nominations are being accepted now on the search webpage. Search committee members include:

  • Co-chair: Patrick Hopkins, dean of the Kelley School of Business.
  • Co-chair: Don Lukes, associate vice president and university treasurer.
  • Danielle DeSawal, clinical professor in the School of Education and president of the Bloomington Faculty Council.

“From my prior tenure in Bloomington until today, Aimee has been steadfast in her commitment to this campus,” IU Bloomington Chancellor David Reingold said. “Her contributions here have been significant, and I wish her luck in her new leadership role at Illinois.”

During her 23-year career at Indiana University, Heeter has held multiple senior leadership roles, including associate vice provost for finance and budget and assistant vice president for budget. In her current role, she has been responsible for IU Bloomington’s $2 billion annual budget and has overseen a broad portfolio including budget planning, financial administration, internal controls, foundation management and auxiliary services.

“Aimee has been a trusted collaborator and a steady force behind many of IU Bloomington’s financial successes,” IU Bloomington Provost Rahul Shrivastav said. “She brings exceptional integrity, strategic insight and a deep understanding of the complex financial needs of a research university. While it’s bittersweet to see her leave, I know she will have a tremendous impact at Illinois.”

A proud three-time IU graduate, Heeter earned her doctorate in higher education finance, master’s degree in education and bachelor’s degree in journalism from Indiana University.
