IU School of Optometry supports Special Olympics games

Photo by Grace Brasel, Special Olympics clinical directorIndiana University School of Optometry faculty, students, staff, alumni and friends came together to provide comprehensive vision screenings to 342 athletes at the Special Olympics Indiana Summer Games on June 6. 
Participating athletes were also gifted with either a pair of prescription-free sunglasses or prescription dress/recreational spectacles. Fifty-two prescription-free sunglasses were distributed on-site, and 20 prescription swim goggles, 105 prescription recreational spectacles and 283 prescription dress spectacles were ordered for delivery.
The vision screenings and glasses were provided at no cost to the athletes, thanks to the support of volunteers and sponsors.
