IU Bloomington professor Carl R. Weinberg will have a book talk and signing for his new work, “Red Dynamite: Creationism, Culture Wars and Anticommunism,” at 7 p.m. Nov. 4 at Morgenstern Books, 849 S. Auto Mall Road in Bloomington.

In the book, Weinberg argues that creationism’s hold on American life depended on culture-war politics embedded in religion, and the author traces the union of Darwinism and communism over the next century.

Weinberg is a senior lecturer in the College of Arts and Sciences, and an adjunct associate professor in the Department of History. He focuses on social movements, culture wars and politics.
