Apply for 2022-23 IU tuition benefit

By IU Human Resources

April 07, 2022

Employees who want to use the IU tuition benefit for themselves or their spouse and children during the 2022-23 academic year must submit a new application.

The IU tuition benefit reduces the cost of IU courses (including Advance College Project courses) for full-time academic and staff employees, medical and optometry residents, and former employees with IU Retiree Status. The benefit is also available for spouses and tax dependent children under age 24.

For employees and spouses, the benefit is a subsidy toward tuition costs up to a specific dollar maximum. For children, the benefit is 50 percent of tuition costs at the Indiana-resident undergraduate rate, up to the completion of a bachelor’s degree or 140 hours of IU tuition benefit awards, whichever comes first.

A new application must be submitted at the beginning of each academic year by completing the online application form. Applications can be submitted for the entire academic year or for individual semesters/terms. Remember that new students must be registered for courses before applying for the benefit.

Additional information is available on the IU tuition benefit web page or by contacting IU Human Resources at askhr@iu.edu.

IU High School tuition waiver

The IU tuition benefit plan also provides a 25 percent tuition waiver for IU High School courses. To apply for the waiver, submit the IU High School Tuition Waiver Application before the student registers for classes.

Additional information is available on the IU High School web page or by contacting iuhs@indiana.edu.
