EDITOR’S NOTE: Even though a little work is being completed on the exterior of the structure, the Poplars garage reopens on Monday, Oct. 3. Until work is completed to remove the Poplars building, there will be dust in the area. Parking on the south side of the garage is recommended.

The Poplars parking garage on the IU Bloomington campus is partially open, as the remainder of the Poplars Building is being torn down.

Currently, the first floor and a small portion of the second floor are open for parking, according to the Office of the Vice President for Capital Planning and Facilities.

The remainder of the parking garage is expected to be open, with the exception of a few spaces, within the coming weeks.

The demolition of the Poplars Building, which has dominated the city skyline, began in August. The site will become greenspace once demolition is complete.
