Vice Provost for Faculty and Academic Affairs finalists announced

Following Eliza Pavalko’s Oct. 3 announcement that she will return to the sociology faculty in the spring 2023 semester, the IU Bloomington campus launched a search for a new vice provost for faculty and academic affairs.

A search committee chaired by Provost Professor of Sociology Jane McLeod, executive associate dean at the College of Arts and Sciences, vetted applications and selected two finalists. Each finalist will take part in a one-hour town hall meeting in the moot court room of Lowell E. Baier Hall at the Maurer School of Law.

Kimberly Geeslin, associate vice provost and director of the Initiative for the Advancement of Women Faculty, will take part in a hybrid town hall at 1 p.m. Nov. 7. Employees can also dial into the Zoom link.

Vasti Torres, executive associate dean at the School of Education, will take part in a hybrid town hall at 1 p.m. Nov. 8. Employees can also dial into the Zoom link.

Submit feedback on the candidates online following the town halls.
