Your IU benefits: Year-end reminders
By IU Human Resources
December 15, 2022
As 2022 comes to a close, IU Human Resources is offering tips and reminders for getting the most out of your employee benefits in the new year.
Watch for new medical ID cards. Employees enrolled in the Anthem PPO HDHP will be issued new medical plan ID cards for 2023. The only change is the deductible and out-of-pocket maximum amounts listed on the front of the card. Anthem will mail cards through USPS to the home address on file unless the member is signed up for digital-only cards. All other groups can continue using their existing Anthem ID card in 2023.
Sign up for Anthem’s Sydney Health app. As a reminder, Castlight Health will be discontinued at the end of the 2022. All medical plan members are encouraged to sign up for Anthem’s Sydney Health app, which offers 24/7 access to cost comparisons for medical services, a search option to look up in-network providers, digital ID cards, benefit and claim details, and virtual telehealth visits with a doctor.
Schedule your annual preventive care. Preventive medical services such as an annual physical, cancer screenings, well-child visits and immunizations are covered by IU medical plans at 100%. Review the list of covered services to learn what’s recommended for your age.
Review the prescription drug formulary. The list of approved drugs can change periodically during the year. Even if your medications have not changed, make sure you regularly check them against the most up-to-date formulary.
IU Benefit Cards from Nyhart. Nyhart automatically issues IU Benefit Cards (debit-type Visa cards) to any new health savings account (HSA) or health care flexible spending account (FSA) participant, or to existing participants whose cards are expiring. IU Benefit Cards are active for three years and are automatically reissued as they expire.
Consent to receive your 1095-C electronically. 1095-C tax forms for 2022 will be issued no later than March 2, 2023. If you haven’t already, consent to receive yours electronically instead of by mail by visiting the Employee Center.
Sign up for wellness events. The IU Human Resources events calendar includes upcoming events from IU benefits vendors such as Fidelity and Care.com, as well as Healthy IU and IU Human Resources. New events are added weekly, so be sure to check it often.
