As Indiana University campuses prepare to start the fall 2021 semester, the university is relaunching its COVID-19 testing dashboard.
Throughout the pandemic, the university-wide dashboard has provided relevant information about the status of COVID-19 cases on IU campuses. Now, with 85 percent of all students, faculty and staff fully vaccinated, IU’s dashboard is getting a refresh with new and more streamlined information.
Featuring a weekly brief with relevant notes from IU’s medical and public health leaders, data will include vaccination rates and positive cases in the IU community. Vaccination rates and the number of positive cases will be broken down by students, and by faculty and staff. Both will also be viewable by campus or the university as a whole.
“With the tremendous response we’ve had from our students, faculty and staff to getting vaccinated, we are switching to a more streamlined focus on the data that is most relevant to controlling the pandemic on IU campuses,” said Dr. Aaron Carroll, IU’s chief health officer. “We continue to keep a close eye on the number of positive cases on our campuses in order to quickly spot and prevent any potential outbreaks.”
IU’s continued response to the pandemic
Along with its public dashboard, IU continues to address health and safety on all of its campuses amid the changing conditions of the COVID-19 pandemic. Currently, students, faculty and staff who are not fully vaccinated participate in weekly COVID-19 testing, and all individuals on IU campuses are instructed to wear masks inside in public spaces. IU will continue to provide vaccinations for anyone not fully vaccinated.
IU’s public dashboard will be updated each Friday. This along with additional information on IU’s response to the pandemic will continue to be available at iu.edu/covid.
