Two of IU’s regional campuses, IU East and IU Kokomo, have new deans.
Markus Pomper began his new role as dean for the IU East School of Natural Science and Mathematics on Aug. 15. He will maintain his position as professor of mathematics in the Department of Mathematics for the Richmond campus.
“IU East is my academic home,” Pomper said. “As dean, my goal is to create a comprehensive undergraduate and graduate experience that includes student research, student community and co-curricular activities to complement the school’s programs.”
Meanwhile, Chittibabu “Chitti” Govindarajulu has joined IU Kokomo as dean of the School of Business. He will lead undergraduate and graduate programs including business administration, accounting, finance, hospitality and tourism management, public administration, and sports and recreation management.
“The faculty members here are doing wonderful things,” he said. “I look forward to working with them to set the strategic direction for the School of Business, working with the staff to improve processes and making sure our strategic direction meets accreditation standards.”
