University Enrollment Services supports the academic and student services missions of Indiana University by providing strategic leadership in partnership with campus enrollment leaders, while also implementing major student enrollment projects and initiatives on all IU campuses. The division coordinates and manages shared services operations in admissions, transfer operations, financial aid, student records, student demographics, access administration and veterans affairs.

Kilpatrick will serve on the Office of the Vice President for Student Success’ leadership team and will also lead the university-wide enrollment council. His first day in the role is Sept. 18.

“Sean brings an incredible depth of experience to our office,” Vice President for Student Success Julie Payne-Kirchmeier said. “As we implement our ambitious IU 2030 goals for student success and opportunity, he will serve as an integral part of the people making those goals a reality.”

Kilpatrick comes to IU from the University of Miami in Florida, where he served as executive director of the university’s one-stop shop “’Canes Central,” which oversaw consolidated operations for four offices: Registrar, Financial Aid, Student Accounts and University ID. Before that, Kilpatrick served as assistant dean of students and post-graduate support services in the School of Nursing and Health Studies at the University of Miami.

He holds a bachelor’s degree and a Master of Science in education, both from the University of Miami.

“I’m thrilled to join the IU team, where student success and development are so clearly integral to the mission of the university,” Kilpatrick said. “I’ve long believed that strategic thinking and taking data- and results-driven approaches create student success, and I’m looking forward to the opportunities that will shape our students in the years to come.”
