September Scholar of the Month Conversation

The September speaker for the Center for TRIP Scholar of the Month Conversation Series is Gerardo Maupomé, professor in the Department of Global Health and associate dean of research in the Richard M. Fairbanks School of Public Health.

Dr. Gerardo Maupome Maupomé’s work focuses on dental public health, population health, dental health services, global/immigrant health, minority health, social and behavioral sciences, and health disparities.  

His conversation, “The First Wave of Covid-19 and Its Influence on Social Networks of Hispanics,” will explore findings from data collected from 558 people from Central America and Mexico. Maupomé’s research team used the information to examine the evolution of social networks, health beliefs and health-related behaviors among the population groups.

Registration is open for the presentation, which will take place from noon to 1 p.m. Sept. 29 via Zoom.
