Benefits Open Enrollment — your annual opportunity to review and change your benefits — is right around the corner.

Details such as plan changes and premiums will be shared in the lead-up to Open Enrollment, which takes place Oct. 23 to Nov. 3. Employees can expect to receive emails, participate in live webinars and find updates in IU Today. A direct mailer will also be sent to employee homes soon.

Along with the standard communications, IU Human Resources will also introduce “Benefits Spotlights” in IU Today throughout October. These weekly articles will highlight the available plans and their distinctive features, equipping employees with the information needed to make well-informed decisions once it’s time to enroll. Here’s what to watch for:

1. Benefits that nurture your health and well-being. In the first article, you’ll learn about the comprehensive coverage and wellness resources offered under the IU medical and dental plans to keep you and your family healthy.
2. Benefits that help you reduce financial stress. In the second article, you’ll learn how to use flexible spending accounts and health savings accounts to pay for health and dependent care expenses tax-free.
3. Benefits that help you protect what matters most. In the third and final article, we’ll take a closer look at supplemental accidental death and dismemberment insurance, which provides added protection for you and your loved ones. Plus, we’ll introduce a new benefit for 2024: critical illness insurance. This voluntary coverage helps you cover expenses following the diagnosis of a serious illness.
