New scholarship, other resources for IUPUI veterans
Ahead of Veterans Day memorials and events on Nov. 11, a reminder that resources are available year-round for IUPUI students and employees who are veterans and military members, including a new scholarship opportunity.
The IUPUI Office for Veterans & Military Personnel has partnered with Warrior Breed MC to establish its first donor-funded scholarship. The scholarship will serve as a critical financial resource for the campus’s military-affiliated student population, including veterans, active-duty service members and their dependents.
The office provides comprehensive resources to former and current U.S. service members and their dependents to support their overall success at IUPUI.
Employees can also connect with the Veterans Faculty and Staff Council, which advocates on issues of concern to the veteran community, and promotes professional and educational success of veteran faculty, staff and students.
The group also organizes regular events such as Coffee with a Vet, Brown Bag lunch meetings and social hours at various American Legion Posts around Marion County.
Membership on the Veterans Faculty and Staff Council is open to all IUPUI faculty, staff and retirees who have served or are currently serving in a branch of the United States armed services.
