Trident lighting ceremonies scheduled at IU campuses

Photo by Chris Meyer, Indiana University This holiday season, the Indiana University community will host trident lighting ceremonies at campuses across the state.

The initial ceremony took place Nov. 7 on the IU Fort Wayne campus, with a second Nov. 8 at IU Columbus; ceremonies will wrap up Nov. 28 at IU Northwest. The ceremonies will feature a 16-foot trident illuminated with LED light and include hot cocoa.

All ceremonies will begin at 6:30 p.m. local time, with exceptions noted below. Campus events are planned: 

  • Nov. 10 at IU Indianapolis, outside the Campus Center.
  • 7:05 p.m. Nov. 13 at IU East, outside Hayes Hall.
  • 7:30 p.m. Nov. 14 at IU Kokomo’s Quad.
  • 6 p.m. Nov. 15 at IU Southeast, Ogle Center.
  • 5:30 p.m. Nov. 16 at IU Bloomington, Sample Gates.
  • 5:30 p.m. Nov. 27 at IU South Bend, plaza in front of the library.
  • 6 p.m. Nov. 28, IU Northwest, Tamarack Green outdoor fireplace.
