IU Surplus collecting winter gear for kids
Staff and faculty are encouraged to donate gently used winter coats, hats, mittens and scarves at the IU Surplus store, 3050 E. Discovery Parkway.
The store has partnered with Spirit 95 to support the Salvation Army’s annual Coats for Kids campaign. All donations will be given away free of charge to local community members in need.
Todd Reid, program management leader for IU Surplus Store and Warehouse, said he supports this program whenever possible. As a recipient of a free winter coat himself as a child, Reid said, “I love this program.”
Donations may be made through December during store hours: noon to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
