Several members of the IU Bloomington community have been named to a committee that will work toward revising and updating the campus budget model.

The campus-specific Budget Model Redesign Committee is part of a larger, university-wide process to revise and update the university’s budget model and processes. That work began this summer with a charge from IU President Pamela Whitten. Updates from the process at the university level are expected to be implemented for fiscal year 2025.

“Our committee members’ deep understanding of our complex institution, as well as their insights into how a new budget model can shape outcomes and opportunities, will bring great value to this process,” IU Bloomington Provost and Executive Vice President Rahul Shrivastav said. “An updated budget model will provide greater transparency; foster additional interdisciplinary activity and collaborative research; and remove some of our administrative burdens while also ensuring that our campus is positioned to achieve the goals of our strategic plan as well as the broader IU 2030 strategic plan.”

Shrivastav said the committee will work collaboratively, and that the process will include listening sessions, focus groups and additional engagement with various stakeholders across campus.
