Reminder: Course materials orders can be submitted now

By IU Today

February 14, 2024

Both eTexts and IU Bookstore are now accepting course materials orders. Placing your orders before the class registration window helps students budget for textbook costs and ensures that IU complies with the Higher Education Opportunity Act.

The following options are available:

IU eTexts

IU eTexts is an affordable content initiative created and managed by University Information Technology Services. Use the “IU eTexts Portal” on One.IU to begin your order. Please note: The ordering tool is only open for self-ordering during campus-specific timeframes. Orders can still be placed after these timeframes by following the IU eTexts Post Deadline Ordering process.

IU Bookstore

This method is fulfilled by Follett Higher Education Group, which operates the IU Bookstore. The portal can be found by searching “Order Textbooks/Course Materials (Faculty)” inside One.IU. Deadlines are as follows:

  • March 15: For summer semester 2024.
  • April 15: For fall 2024.
  • Oct. 15: For spring 2025.

Meeting these due dates allows time for sourcing the materials to ensure availability before classes start. Providing course materials information enables them to assist students with various third-party payments, ensuring a smooth process for students who may use external funding to purchase course materials.

Open educational resources

Open educational resources are teaching and learning materials that are either available in the public domain or are shared under a license that allows free use and revision.

See what is available by searching the Open Textbook library catalog. Order titles through the IU eTexts initiative for digital delivery at no cost to your students.

Campus library resources

Your campus library may be able to make titles available for students. Learn more about Class Reserves and other library services on your campus:
