Save on spring 2024 courses with IU tuition benefit
By IU Human Resources
March 06, 2024
If you, your spouse or your children are taking IU courses this spring, make sure to apply for the IU tuition benefit by March 30.
What is the tuition benefit, and who is eligible?
The tuition benefit reduces the cost of IU courses for full-time faculty and staff, medical and optometry residents, and former employees with IU retiree status. The benefit is also available to spouses and tax-dependent children under age 24.
For employees and spouses, the benefit is a subsidy toward tuition costs up to a specific dollar maximum per semester. For children, the benefit is 50 percent of tuition costs at the Indiana resident undergraduate rate, up to either the completion of a bachelor’s degree or 140 credit hours of IU tuition benefit awards, whichever comes first.
How do I apply?
To apply for the spring 2024 benefit, employees must submit an online application no later than March 30. New students must register for courses before applying for the benefit, and a separate application must be submitted for each campus of enrollment.
If you are unsure if you have already applied for the benefit, or if you need to make changes to your application, contact askhr@iu.edu. The benefit will be applied directly to the student’s bursar account once the student has registered for classes and receives their next bursar bill.
Where can I learn more?
Details about eligibility, benefit amounts and how to apply, as well as answers to many frequently asked questions, are available on the IU tuition benefit web page. For more information, contact askhr@iu.edu.
