Coffington previously served as associate vice president for university communications at IU, leading a team that supported media relations, internal communications, issues management, social media, research communications and storytelling across all IU campuses.

“Communications and marketing play an important role in connecting our students, faculty and staff to a shared vision; sharing the impact of our teaching and research with the world; and helping recruit students and faculty to our campuses,” IU President Pamela Whitten said. “Jonathan’s leadership will play a crucial role in strengthening IU’s reputation, and we’re excited to welcome him back to IU.”

Coffington currently leads the brand and digital, innovation and R&D, and North American commercial communications teams for a global agricultural technology company.
