This summer, IU faculty are invited to explore the potential of generative artificial intelligence through Next.IU, a hands-on Generate AI tool pilot.
As part of Indiana University’s broader commitment to innovation, this pilot offers a unique opportunity to test three of the most powerful tools available — ChatGPT, Gemini and Microsoft Copilot 365 — with real faculty workflows in mind.
Whether drafting a syllabus, analyzing data, writing letters of recommendation, summarizing research or managing service tasks, UITS wants to know: Can these tools help? Where do they fall short? Which is best for your work?
Participants choose the pace and the tasks, and are asked to stay curious and share what they learn.
Participants will:
- Receive free access to all three tools for a year.
- Complete at least eight short challenges aligned with real academic tasks.
- Use ready-to-go prompts, or modify their own.
- Join optional training sessions and collaborative forums with fellow faculty.
- Provide simple feedback that helps shape IU’s future AI support.
Complete this form to participate in a Next.IU pilot, request information or suggest a system or tool for consideration.
Faculty participation will help IU explore what’s possible and ensure that the university’s AI strategy is built around the people who use it most.
