Last call for summer 2025 tuition savings
By IU Human Resources
July 07, 2025
The deadline for summer 2025 IU tuition benefit applications is fast approaching. Apply by July 30 and use our new tool to view and track your application status.
How the benefit helps you save
The IU tuition benefit reduces the cost of IU tuition for employees and their family members. Whether you’re developing new skills, pursuing a degree, starting a new career, or supporting your child or spouse’s education, this benefit helps make higher education more accessible and affordable.
Here’s what the benefit covers:
- For employees, medical and optometry residents, and retirees: Tuition costs up to a dollar maximum based on the campus of enrollment and degree program.
- For spouses: Tuition costs up to a dollar maximum based on their campus of enrollment.
- For children under age 24: 50% of tuition costs at the Indiana resident undergraduate rate (up to140 credit hours of tuition benefit awards or the completion of a bachelor’s degree, whichever comes first).
Here’s how to apply:
- Enroll in IU courses. If the student is new to IU, they must register for courses before applying for the benefit.
- Submit an online application by the deadline. A separate application is required for each student and each campus of enrollment.
- Receive the benefit. Once approved, the tuition benefit is applied directly to the student’s bursar account after tuition charges have been posted.
Applications can be submitted for up to an entire academic year in advance, but they do not renew automatically. You must re-apply each year.
