By IU Human Resources

October 03, 2024

Benefits Open Enrollment — the annual opportunity for full-time faculty and staff to review, update and change their benefits for the upcoming year — will take place from Nov. 4 to 15, 2024. Whether you need to add or remove dependents or adjust your coverage to fit your family’s evolving needs, this is the time to act.

Steps to prepare for Open Enrollment

Follow these steps to ensure you’re ready when it’s time to make your elections:

  • Explore the website. Visit the Open Enrollment website for everything you need to make informed decisions about your 2025 benefits, including:
  • Review your existing benefit elections. Log in to the Employee Center to review your current benefits summary. Even if you’re satisfied with your existing elections, you should review your coverage and beneficiaries each year. Some benefits also require annual re-enrollment, like the flexible spending accounts and the tobacco-free premium reduction.
  • Watch your mailbox. Keep an eye on your home mailbox for an informational mailer from IU Human Resources. Details on how and when to make your 2025 benefit elections will also be sent to your IU email address.

For residents and retirees

Open Enrollment for medical and optometry residents, and for IU retirees, will take place during the same time period. Details for these groups will be sent directly by email or U.S. mail and can also be found on the dedicated Open Enrollment pages for residents and retirees.
