Celebrate democracy: Sept. 17 is Constitution Day

By IU Libraries

September 16, 2021

On Sept. 17, 1787, the Founding Fathers signed the U.S. Constitution. Each year, Constitution Day commemorates this birth of democracy.

This year, the Herman B Wells Library — named the 2020 Library of the Year by U.S. Government Publishing Office — will hand out free pocket versions of the U.S. Constitution.

The first 87 people to visit Government Information, Maps and Microform Services on the second floor of the East Tower and mention Constitution Day will take home their own portable copy of the 1787 document.
