JagLine changes include adjusted routes, expanded hours

By IU Indianapolis Today

October 18, 2024

The JagLine shuttle service is extending hours and adjusting routes to better connect riders to a downtown grocery store and urgent care facility, and provide additional connectivity to the IndyGo Red and Purple Lines. The changes will affect the JagLine’s Purple Line and Crimson Line.

Purple Line (Route 5) changes effective Nov. 4

  • Hours will expand, with buses running from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Friday; hours previously ended at 7 p.m.
  • The route will be modified to extend further east on Michigan Street, with a stop near the intersection of Michigan Street and Senate Avenue, labeled 2 on the map below. This is adjacent to an IU Health urgent care center and a Kroger.
  • The current shuttle stop on Vermont Street between Capitol Avenue and Illinois Street will move from the north side of Vermont Street to the south side, labeled 1 on the map below.

Crimson Line (Route 1) changes

  • The last day for weekend service on the Crimson Line will be Oct 27.
  • There will be no changes in service to this route Monday through Friday.

Orange Line (Route 7) to begin service Nov. 2 Map of JagLine Orange Line route

  • The new route combines portions of the Route 1 Crimson Line and the newly modified Route 5 Purple Line into one route.
  • It will provide weekend connectivity to campus, the IU Health urgent care center and Kroger on Michigan Street, and the IndyGo Red and Purple Lines.
  • Operating hours will be from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays.

The JagLine runs five routes that include stops on the main campus and north campus, as well as nearby dining locations and medical facilities. Use the JagLine shuttle tracker and look for the JagLine app, available soon in the Apple app store and Google Play store, to find and navigate all routes. When using the app, riders are encouraged to arrive early because, as with many GPS tracking systems, there is a slight lag in the current location.
