Celebrating a new president
Indiana University inaugurated Pamela Whitten as its 19th president during a ceremony Nov. 4 at IU Auditorium, and a celebratory festival followed.
Among those in the IU community who participated in the events were students, faculty, staff and members of the IU Board of Trustees. State leaders attending the celebration included Gov. Eric J. Holcomb, Bloomington Mayor John Hamilton and Purdue University President Mitch Daniels.
IUPUI and IU’s regional campuses watched the ceremony through a livestream broadcast and held events on their own campuses.
An inauguration celebration was held at IUPUI on Nov. 5 with the IUPUI community and Indianapolis Mayor Joe Hogsett.
Here are some of the festive scenes from the ceremony, festivals and watch parties across the days of celebration from Indiana University photographers James Brosher, Liz Kaye, Chris Meyer and regional campuses.
