In a few weeks, employees and family members enrolled in IU-sponsored employee medical insurance will have access to employee health centers through Marathon Health. This includes in-person visits at a brand-new center in Bloomington and seven established Indianapolis-area centers, as well as virtual visits for members in network states.

Watch for registration email

Over the coming weeks, eligible employees should watch for an email from Marathon Health with instructions to register for its online patient portal. Registering is the first step toward accessing Marathon Health services. Through the portal you can learn more about its locations and services, and coordinate your care, including:

• Scheduling in-person or virtual appointments.
• Messaging your care team.
• Viewing test results.
• Requesting prescription refills.
• Connecting your devices (Fitbit, Garmin, Apple or Google Fit) to track your progress.

Key benefits

A key benefit of the Marathon Health centers is the minimal wait time for appointments. Members can generally schedule preventive care visits within a week, and acute (sick) care for the same or next business day. There will also be increased access to mental health services, with mental/behavioral health providers available for in-person and virtual appointments.
